Our Staff

Our Staff team is employed by Cloch to run the business, day to day.  We currently have 34 staff.  They report to the Board and ensure that the tenants, owners, applicants, and other service users receive the care and service set out by the Board. Our staff is our main resource in providing an excellent quality service to our customers and we endeavour at all stages to support and develop staff to ensure they have the skills and expertise to provide an excellent service.

The Association believes in a growth mindset attitude to staff, where we are looking to assist them to learn at every opportunity and to take personal responsibility in their own career and personal skills development.

Leadership Team

Alana DurninChief Executive Officer

Alana leads Cloch Housing Association and is responsible for the successful delivery of our strategy and business plan.  Alana started working with the team at Cloch in 2015 in her previous role as the Finance Director for Cloch & Oak Tree Housing Associations, responsible for providing shared finance and IT services to the Associations. 

Alana has a passion for business strategy, governance, finance and leadership and has balanced this with her day to day roles and voluntary Board appointments, as a past board member at the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA) and having spent seven years as a non-exec director for Investors in People Scotland. Alana has also spent time on the governing body of a Glasgow-based Housing Co-operative to assist with governance and strategic direction. 

Alana has worked in the Social Housing Sector since 2007 and has a Business Degree, Diploma in Management and MBA, from The Open University, as well as an Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting from the global accounting body the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).

Megan Hughes Director of Finance

Megan is a seasoned finance professional with over a decade of experience spanning treasury management, corporate finance, and audit. A Chartered Accountant (ICAS) and First-Class Accountancy graduate from the University of Glasgow.

As Finance Director, Megan drives the Association’s financial strategy, and ensures financial resilience, success, and organisational growth, providing strategic direction to the Finance team.  

Her career journey includes senior roles at Wylie & Bisset LLP, where she advised public sector organisations on acquisitions, valuations, and financial modelling. Megan is recognised for her ability to combine strategic insight with rigorous financial analysis, fostering strong stakeholder relationships and delivering results under tight deadlines.

Passionate about financial governance and team development, Megan brings a collaborative approach to leadership and a proven track record of guiding organizations through critical financial decisions.

Michael Monaghan Director of Customer Services and Communities

Michael brings over 18 years of leadership experience in the social housing sector, driving operational excellence and strategic transformation. As Director of Customer Services & Communities he oversees housing, community, and money advice services for approximately 1480 mixed-tenure properties across the local area, ensuring top-tier customer satisfaction and performance.

A proven leader, Michael has spearheaded major initiatives including performance frameworks, and customer service enhancements. His expertise spans policy development, rent setting, partnership working and community involvement, with a strong focus on tenant sustainability and affordability in line with Scotland’s Housing to 2040 agenda.

Michael holds a Master’s in Housing Studies (Distinction) from the University of Glasgow and is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing. Passionate about community engagement, he represents regional housing networks and leads projects that improve lives and strengthen neighbourhoods.

Robert PollockDirector of Assets

Robert is a dynamic leader with a passion for delivering exceptional housing and property services. As Director of Assets, he oversees multi-million-pound investment programmes that enhance homes and communities in Inverclyde.

With over 20 years of experience in asset management and property services, Robert combines strategic vision with hands-on leadership. He is committed to driving innovation, ensuring compliance, and achieving value for money, all while keeping customers at the heart of every decision.

Holding an MSc in Quantity Surveying (Distinction) and a BA in Business, Robert is a member of the RICS and is working towards chartership. Known for his collaborative approach and ability to inspire teams, he thrives on creating positive change and delivering long-term benefits for residents.

Outside of work, Robert has served on housing association boards and volunteers as a youth football coach, reflecting his dedication to community development.

Ewan BarrHead of IT & Corporate Services

As Head of IT & Corporate Services Ewan is responsible for the Associations ICT systems and services. This involves developing the digital strategy and ensuring the Association has the ICT capabilities to underpin its main business objectives. The role also involves the strategic management of the Corporate Services department which includes governance, health & safety, data protection, and office management. Ewan also manages the provision of shared ICT services for Oak Tree Housing Association.

Ewan graduated in 2003 with a BSc in Information Systems. He also has professional qualifications in Project Management and Leadership.

Ewan joined Cloch in September 2017 as IT Project Manager. With over 19 years experience in IT services, he has worked in IT roles in both the public and private sector, including positions within the NHS, a UK based Engineering Consultancy and Local Authority.
