From Sunday 1st February to Sunday 31st May 2026, our Community Health and Wellbeing Officer, Patricia Broom, fondly known as “PC”, will be taking on an incredible challenge — walking one million steps in support of the Royal National Institute for Deaf People (RNID) while also boosting her own health and wellbeing.

Cloch HA is proud to support PC in this inspiring goal, and we’re encouraging anyone within the Inverclyde Community to get involved by joining her on one of her weekly wellbeing walks.
Why Walk?
Walking is one of the simplest and most effective ways to improve wellbeing. It benefits both mental and physical health, supports heart health, reduces stress, and provides a brilliant opportunity to get outdoors, socialise, and enjoy a good blether with others.
To help PC reach her one-million-step target, we’ll be organising weekly wellbeing walks, mostly on flat and accessible routes, in areas close to our tenants. We’d love for you to come along — whether you join us once or every week.

Proposed Walking Routes
Our walks will explore some lovely local spots, including:
- Tail O’ The Bank, past the Beacon and along the waterfront
- Greenock Esplanade
- Coronation Park, Port Glasgow, past the Waterwheel
- Lady Octavia, towards Cappielow and up Bawhirley Road
Walks will take place on Wednesday mornings, with the first walk planned for Wednesday 4th February at The Beacon Arts Centre, at 11 AM. You’ll also meet other members of the Cloch team, who will be taking part and are always happy to answer questions or enjoy a friendly chat along the way.
Community Centre Cuppa
After completing our walk, we’ll drop into one of our local Community Centres for a well-earned cuppa and a catch-up. It’s the perfect chance to relax, warm up, and meet others in your community.
Get Involved — At Your Own Pace
There’s no commitment to attend every walk. Join whenever it suits you and build the walks into your own routine. Whether you’re aiming to be more active, meet new people, support RNID, or simply enjoy a stroll, you’re very welcome.
