Primary school pupils across Inverclyde have been celebrating after taking part in a creative Easter competition that encouraged teamwork, imagination and plenty of fun.
Following the huge success of last year’s Easter Door Competition, local pupils were set a brand‑new challenge this spring — to work together to design and build a 3D Easter‑themed structure. The brief was wide open, allowing classes to create anything from houses and vehicles to animals, characters or whole Easter scenes.
Using a wide range of materials — including cardboard, recycled items, craft supplies, paint and fabric — pupils threw themselves into the challenge. The aim was simple: to encourage creativity, collaboration and enjoyment. Judging by the finished designs, the challenge was more than met.
After the high standard set last year, pupils had a tough act to follow — but the imagination, effort and joy on display made judging extremely difficult. Two entries stood out so strongly that joint winners were announced.
Classes from All Saints Primary School (P3B) and Moorfoot Primary School (P3) were delighted to be named winners and received a well‑earned prize: a fun session at Xcite Soft Play in Greenock, complete with snacks, drinks and goodie bags.
Both winning classes have now enjoyed their soft play sessions, celebrating their achievement with classmates and teachers alike.
Michael Monaghan, Director of Customer Services and Communities said “We were impressed by the creativity and teamwork shown by all the pupils who took part. Competitions like this are about more than winning — they give children the chance to work together, use their imaginations and have fun. We’re delighted to support local schools and look forward to running more activities like this in the future.”
Teachers from both schools praised the initiative and the pupils’ enthusiasm.

Clare Greenwood from Moorfoot Primary said “When I first saw the Competition, I knew my class would love the creative challenge. They certainly rose to it, producing a quite incredible Easter Village. They were delighted to be joint winners of the Competition and were thrilled with their prizes - an Easter egg, a trip to Xcite and a goody bag! Thank you to Cloch Housing Association for inspiring this special memory for P3.

Maria Shields from All Saints Primary added “P3b at All Saints Greenock had lots of fun designing and creating their fantastic “Easter Eggs-press” Steam Train, as their 3d model entry for the Cloch Housing Easter Competition. The pupils worked together using their creativity and teamwork skills to bring their exciting idea to life.”
The class were delighted to win a trip to Xcite, kindly donated by Cloch Housing Association. Everyone is very excited for the visit and grateful for the generous support from Cloch Housing Association.
It has been fantastic to see local children bringing their ideas to life and enjoying the rewards of their hard work. Photos of the winning classes enjoying their prize will feature in an upcoming newsletter.
The organisation is pleased to offer opportunities like this for local schools and is committed to delivering more creative, community‑focused activities in the future.
